DEBEM Vertical Semi-Submersible Pumps

IМ Vertical semi-submersible pumps are designed for fixed installations with pump immersed into the tank. They are operated by a direct-drive electric motor (max 3000 r/min) for fast fluid drainage with flow rates ranging from 6 to 75 m3/hour and head up to 38 m.

Vertical semi-submersible pumps feature a special design and no internal mechanical seals (subject to heavy wear), which ensures no accidental spillages to be collected in the tank. The open impeller allows continuous pumping even very dirty liquids with apparent viscosity up to 500 cps (at 20°C) and those containing small solid particles.

The possibility to choose pump constructing materials ensures the most correct chemical compatibility with the fluid and / or the environment taking the temperature into account.

 Description

IM vertical semi-submersible pumps are made of polymers and consist of solid pump housing and a column fitted to the baseplate that supports the lantern which in its turn supports the electric motor. The direct-drive motor is connected with the help of a flexible coupling on the pump shaft. The open impeller is fitted to the other end of the shaft that is supported by a radial bearing. This pump’s special design allows the motor to be stripped without the need to disconnect the pump from the system.

The way it works

The impeller integrates with the shaft and direct-drive electric motor. It is rotated at a preset speed with the centrifugal force producing suction on the intake side and discharge on the delivery side.

Description

Installation

IM vertical semi-submersible pumps should be installed only with the shaft positioned vertically. The pump should be immersed in the tank.

There should be special devices fitted in order to prevent dry running and/or the formation of vortexes and possible air suction.

Installation

Attention!

IM vertical semi-submersible pumps should be operated  exclusively in submerged position with  the flow part fully filled.  Dry run or presence of air bubbles can lead to bushing damage!

 IM Chemical Compatibility

The type of liquid, its temperature and application field are the factors to be taken into consideration when you choose construction materials for the pump and their correct chemical compatibility.
